I don't know if restoring a DSM 6 backup in DSM 7 would work or not. I suspect it would not work. Backing up to EXT4 and restoring to BTRFS (or vice versa) is an issue with Docker or Container Manager. I don't think it would be an issue with Active Backup for Microsoft 365. I would actually try Migration Assistant first. It worked really well when I migrated my data, packages and settings from a DS1812+ with DSM 6.2.4 to a DS1821+ with DSM 7.1.1 https://kb.synology.com/en-uk/DSM/help/MigrationAssistant/migrationassistant?version=7 |

Will this work to copy Active Backup for Microsoft 365 from an older Synology 713+ using a EXT4 volume to a newer 723+ setup with BTRFS volume?
I know hyper backup or moving the folders over to the new machine will not work. I also know that Synology recommend snapshot replication but that's not an option available with an EXT4 volume.
I'm think maybe I could setup the new NAS with BTRFS with one drive and pop it into the older NAS and use this script to transfer it.
Do you think that would work?
Thanks.
