We're planning to translate some chapters after the Chinese version is completed.

actually Google Translate does its job pretty well. At least on current Chrome/Chromium it does that seamlessly. I don't mean that this is "production ready" translation quality, but it is really good starting point for English speaker

Actually I would love to create a german version as well .. but Im not sure if I just can start and help?!

The Chinese version is ready to go now. If you are going to translate it from Chinese to German directly then you can start anytime. If you are going to translate it from English to German, we plan to complete the English version in February.
