Despite following the installation instructions in the documentation, an error occurs:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'markdown'.
I understand that you need to specify that the wagtail-markdown package needs to be installed in the installation (when this is done it works fine).

wagtail-markdown is on the requirements on setup.py
