Camera set to 'on' for map - not showing up

Enabled the map option, and set the image and web addresses, saved and restarted allsky. Initially my site showed up on the map, but now it's not showing anymore??

What have I missed or what have I miss configured?

It's back up now... hoping it's dried out, and I have figured out the dew issue. Either way the URL is active now:

Is there any way to find out 'why' the site is not showing on the map?? I can get to https://lr-allsky.cyberrover.ca/ and it is active, but not showing on the map?? Curious how to go about troubleshooting

Please do the following and send the results:

cd ~/allsky/scripts
./postToMap.sh --debug --force

This will force an update and print debugging info.

It's there now:

Take a look in /var/log/allsky.log for any error messages related to postToMap.sh to see why it never was added before. And double check that Show on Map is "Yes" in the WebUI.

@clint70, you may want to shorten your "Lens" to "120 Degree, 3.2mm" so it fits better. The other stuff isn't really needed, and 120 degrees isn't "ultra wide angle" for an allsky lens.

Thank you... just curious whey it drops off? No error whey I run the script, so... something on my side not running the script? I will go update that txt to shorten. Appreciate that.

@clint70 search for postToMap.sh in the log file. It should run every other day assuming Show on Map is set, and there should be an entry in the log - either it worked or an error message.
The map server drops an entry if it hasn't been updated in either a week or a month - I don't remember which one.

@EricClaeys, for some reason, the map info keeps dropping? I can force it with the
./postToMap.sh --force
but no idea why it won't update / post on it's own. Might add this to a cron job... just to 'force' it. Any thoughts / ideas why this won't work?

@clint70 When you say the "map info keeps dropping", do you mean your map entry keeps going away?
Check /var/log/allsky.log to see if there are any error messages from postToMap.sh. It should run every other day.
Map entries time out after about a month. Yours was last updated today.

@EricClaeys, yes my site keeps dropping from the map. I have to re-run the postToMap.sh --force in order to get it to come back. Log files show nothing that I can see... errors / warnings.

Yes... I forced it this AM. I'll go check again right now (1045 EST), it is still there. I guess it's not a huge deal, but just curios as to why. Maybe I did something wrong in setup, FW blocking? or something.... IDK.

@clint70, The map server identifies each camera by what is documented to be a unique variable for every Pi. Yours is the second case where that "unique" variable isn't unique. Today your camera isn't on the map but will be tomorrow, when you're entry is updated and overwrites the other person's. The day after tomorrow their entry will be updated, overwriting yours.

I'm working with Thomas to find a better "unique" variable to solve this problem. There is nothing for you to do. Just an FYI.
