how do i extract the numbers from module Counting stars and insert in the overlay editor?

Make sure the module is enabled, then use the AS_STARCOUNT variable in the Overlay Editor. It might be called STARCOUNT.

@Alex-developer, I didn't see the variable name in the documentation. That would be a good thing to add for all the modules.

strange.. theres no "Starcount" under overlay editor "All variable or allsky variable"
is it the meaning i self shall add ${AS_STARCOUNT} ?

when using Debug mode in starcount, i know that working sins it circle the stars...

@grillbiller, before doing anything, let's see what @Alex-developer has to say. He's been very busy at work so it may take a couple days.

I dont have the current release installed, I need to reinstall it to do some upgrade tests so can check this then, For now I have added the module in the next release and the variable is appearing in the field manager

Also have a look in ~/allsky/tmp/overlaydebug.txt and see if the variable is in there

No AS_STARCOUNT is pressent in the overlaydebug.txt nor overlay editor:

I had try to manuel add variable AS_STARCOUNT in the editor, but it does not "load" values. (Just for a locky shoot.. ;-) )

Just installed the current release and added the starcount module. The variable appears in the variable manager

Can you check the 'All variables' tab in the variable manager and see if its there

Few tips

1. Create and set a mask in the start count module, see the documentation for details
2. Ensure the star count module runs before the overlay module
