Hi!
For a remote observatory, I would really like it if the position of the telescope was displayed as an overlay. That would give additional confirmation of where the telescope is pointing and whether there are clouds, horizontal haze, etc.
I am currently using a Windows-based application called AllskEye, which runs 24/7 on a Mini-PC. AllSkEye receives and shows the scope position from a seperate controling PC via ASCOM Remote Server, which only runs when needed. I would prefere only running a Raspi all the time, because power consumption is a big issue if you depend on solar power.
The Remote Server can be used from clients on almost any operating system including MacOS, Linux, Android and IOS because it uses the Alpaca protocol, which is based on standard HTTP and REST network protocols.
