It feels like the open source / community edition of Alluxio is now pushed to the back burner. Even the docs.alluxio.io points to documentation.alluxio.io which is purely commercial, and the open source repo is not very active.

Will there be an open source Alluxio 3?

Would be great if someone could clarify so we can make migration plans accordingly.

While part of our focus has been on the development of the commercial edition, we remain committed to supporting the open-source community by addressing questions and maintaining engagement.

  • There are 639 issues, 393 PRs and no commit for the past 2 months. Is the expectation some other party claiming ownership on a fork?
  • docs.alluxio.io states the site is archived. Where does one check the documentation of the open source version?
