I just downloaded 3.0.0... help

I have ES on my ROG Ally. I noticed that ES was updated to 3.0.0 and it requires all these steps and whatnot to update the previous version. I am tech savvy, but I have no idea how to move everything everywhere, rename everything OLD and all that. I tried doing it, but Windows is so user unfriendly ever since 11 that I quit even trying. Do I really need to update to 3.0.0? Is it necessary? Will this thing work without all the new bells and whistles? I also don't understand why you don't just update the app like everyone else does and just use an easy EXE update instead of this hassle of finding and moving everyone and hope I don't screw everything up. Any chance you guys will be incorporating an install file instead?

I think you are on the wrong github, es-de is on gitlab, here it's the original ES from which es-de is a fork.
This one is not being worked on anymore
