#Content Policy

The oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website is a portal for multimedia content from U.S. government foreign affairs agencies including the Broadcasting Board of Governors, Department of State and Department of Defense. It is a public domain website, which means you may link to cxp.bbg.gov at no cost. When you link to cxp.bbg.gov, please do it in an appropriate context as a service to people when they need to find official U.S. government foreign affairs agency data or multimedia content.

####Licensing

U.S. Federal data and content available through cxp.bbg.gov is offered free and without restriction. Data and content created by government employees within the scope of their employment are not subject to domestic copyright protection under 17 U.S.C. § 105.

Non-federal data and content available through oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ and the cxp.bbg.gov API may have a different licensing method. BBG and cxp.bbg.gov cannot authorize the use of copyrighted materials that may be available through accessing the oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website or the cxp.bbg.gov API. Users must request such authorization from the provider of the content.

All content accessed through the oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website or the cxp.bbg.gov API are confined to public information and must not contain National Security information as defined by statute and/or Executive Order, or other information/data that is protected by other statute, practice, or legal precedent. The supplying Department/Agency is required to maintain currency with public disclosure requirements.

####Digital Millennium Copyright Act Notice

The BBG respects the intellectual property of others, and we ask users of the BBG Direct site to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable law, BBG has adopted a policy that provides for the termination in appropriate circumstances of account holders who infringe the rights of copyright holders. If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide BBG's Copyright Agent the following information:

A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Identification of the copyright work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works on BBG Direct site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at the site.

Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit BBG to locate the material.

Information reasonably sufficient to permit BBG to contact you, the complaining party may include; a statement that you, the complaining party, have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law, a statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you, the complaining party, are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

####Attribution

While not required, when using content, data, documentation, code, and related materials from cxp.bbg.gov in your own work, we ask that proper credit be given. An example citation is provided below:

####Secondary Use

Content accessed through oddi.bbg.gov/cxp or the cxp.bbg.gov API does not, and should not, include controls over its end use. Once the content has been downloaded from the agency's site, the government cannot vouch for their quality and timeliness. Furthermor, the BBG and the U.S. Government cannot vouch for any analyses conducted with content retrieved from the oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website or the cxp.bbg.gov API.

####Disclaimer of Endorsement

The information available through the oddi.bbg.gov/cxp website or the cxp.bbg.gov API may include hypertext links to information created and maintained by other public and/or private organizations. The oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website and the cxp.bbg.gov API provide these links for your information. When you select a link to an outside website or content hosted by another agency, company or website, you are leaving the oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website and the cxp.bbg.gov API and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the owners/sponsors of the outside website or content.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) and the cxp.bbg.gov API do not control or guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of information contained on a linked website.

BBG and the cxp.bbg.gov API do not endorse organizations sponsoring linked websites and we do not endorse the views they express or the products/services they offer.

####Security

All information accessed through cxp.bbg.gov is in compliance with the required confidentiality, integrity, and availability controls mandated by Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 199 as promulgated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the associated NIST publications supporting the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process. Submitting Agencies are required to follow NIST guidelines and OMB guidance (including C&A requirements).

####Privacy

All information accessed through the oddi.bbg.gov/cxp/ website and the cxp.bbg.gov API must be in compliance with current privacy requirements including OMB guidance. Agencies are responsible for ensuring that the content accessed through the cxp.bbg.gov API have any required Privacy Impact Assessments or System of Records Notices (SORN) easily available on their websites.

####Applicability of this Policy

Nothing in this Policy alters, or impedes the ability to carry out, the authorities of the Federal Departments and Agencies to perform their responsibilities under law and consistent with applicable legal authorities, appropriations, and presidential guidance, nor does this Policy limit the protection afforded any information by other provisions of law. This Policy is intended only to improve the internal management of information controlled by the Executive Branch of the Federal Government and it is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity, by a party against the United States, its Departments, Agencies, or other entities, its officers, employees, or agent.
