I don't use flatpak or snap or other 'blob' mega-executables, so I may
need to ask questions that may sound silly. morc_menu complies with the
Xfreedesktop standard so the script gets its data from *.desktop files
located in the places that those files are supposed to exist. I'm
surprised flatpak doesn't comply with that since that's what all of the
mainstream popular menus expect. With that in mind:
1) Does flatpak play nicely with other menu programs (ie Xfreedesktop)?
2) Have you checked whether something might have gone awry in your
install to not put the *.desktop file in an expected place?
3) How does flatpak expect its apps to be discovered by menu programs?
Also, as it's been ~three years since I looked at morc_menu, it would be
sensible to consider addressing similar tech before I dive back in:
4) What other tech has similar issues?
5) What's the story with snap packages?
Flatpaks are nicely discovered by eg. dmenu and xfce4-appfinder on my install. I don't know if snaps are discovered, this issue is a feature request rather than a bug :)
It would be nice to have flatpak apps displayed in the menu.
