What happened?

GDL Launcher: Error: Uncaught Fatal Exception; code: 1

Description

There stands that i have Java Runtime file version 65, but it only recognizes files up to 61. What should I do?

What are your system specs (run the following command in your terminal)?

OS: Ubuntu 23.10
OS architecture: 64-bit

It is GDLauncher. Not GDL Launcher.

Can you please paste the full error log when launching from terminal as well as describe what you are doing when you encounter this error (ie: is it when starting the launcher or starting a particular version of Minecraft via the launcher)?

Closing as user error. For minecraft versions greater than or equal to 1.21 you need to provide java 21 and select it manually in the instance settings.

this version of GDLauncher (the last remaining open source version) has been discontinued by upstream prior to minecraft 1.21 and java 21
