.NET 6.0 support

Does this package currently work with .NET 6.0, or will it do so in future?
I'm able to get it working fine in .NET framework 4.8 but it failes to find the assembly when following the same setup steps using a Visual Studio project targeting .NET 6.0.
The reason for using .NET 6.0 is that we need this to run on an Ubuntu GitHub runner and it appears that only .NET 6.0 is supported on Ubuntu, not .NET framework 4.8
