When renaming or deleting a Views Dataset that is in use by a View, this View will stop to work. The configuration form should

  • either warn about changes to Views Datasets that are in use,
  • or prevent deletion or changes to the (machine) name of those Datasets

Labeling for 8.x only - I think the 7.x branch will not get any more features/enhancements.
