Currently (September 2017), the unlandmarks are hosted inside of a google docs spreadsheet. This has the convenience of being editable simultaneously by a collection of researchers, but is a wild west in terms of data validation, WYSIWYG rendering, attribution, etc.
Ideally, the points can be migrated into an editable database which can support multiple simultaneous users, allow for a series of gated verification steps (so that "superusers" and only "superusers" can switch points from "in process" to "live on the map".
Ideally as well this database can accept batch imports of data from other sources, so that potential points can be collected en-masse from other people's projects, or from enthusiastic community members.
