The "client software" must, as far as possible, work properly and expose all features even if running on a network over which the dojo has little or no control.

By "client", we mean here the software running on the Raspberry Pi box.

It cannot require port forwarding or firewall changes on non-standard IP ports.

As much as possible all communication should be over standard HTTP ports 80 and/or 443

Probably communication should be HTTPS (port 443) standard encrypted
