Putting a minecart contraption in e.g. a toolbox results in sadness, as, when you open the toolbox again, a packet too big is created and your client is kicked. This is not intuitive and puzzling to recover from -- I have learned a chute under the toolbox works to recover the items, but the toolbox remains bugged and needs to be destroyed (presumably because it keeps a size 0 stack of the offending item in place as pointed out by Gostlyplays).
Be kind to the player and don't let them do that.
