Trouble executing the SiteExploitationTerritories.Rmd

After running the installation command from the README.md "(if(!require('devtools'))..."

When I open SiteExploitationTerritories.R in RStudio and select Run All from the top, I encounter an error in line 41 (dem.croped <- BufferCrop(pts = pts, dem = dem, extent = 5) that reads "Error in .local(.Object, ...) :"

I have to admit I am a relative novice with R, so it may be that the problem isn't with the code but the way/order in which I have (or not) executed things. Any ideas?
