State is reflecting any modifications made, but text displayed is not

once airport has been selected, must refresh to enter new search (state reflects modifications made; text displayed does not)
ADDRESSABLE BY REFACTORING TO A FORM?:
-cannot navigate suggested results w/ tab or arrow keys.
-cannot select suggested result with enter.
-cannot select "go" button automatically with enter, unless tabbed to.
