I was thinking of something simpler, e.g. a simple markdown list but that also looks nice. Whatever works. :)

I'm getting back around to this. How is the repository's built-in list of contributors different than what you're thinking of?

The only difference is that the list is shown at the bottom of the README file which adds a little bit more focus and attention to the people involved, without getting to fancy or distracting. Not big a deal, but just mentioning in case you find it of some importance. Closing this for now to focus on more important updates. :)
