A few of the mods like Applied Energistics have dropped JEI support in favour of running with native EMI compatibility. This means that It is required to have both JEI and EMI loaded which causes bloat. Having native EMI support means that your categories will function even on the packs such as ATM10 that are trying to run with only EMI.
