When placing a node, if you shift-right-click it onto an existing node, they are automatically connected. The new one would inherit any network settings from the original one.
Additional information
I think this would improve the experience of early-game laserIO, reducing the need to spend a logic chip on a wrench. Late game would also be improved since it's less button inputs to set up compact networks. More sprawling networks would not be affected, so the wrench is still necessary. It's an easy feature to avoid if this behavior is not something you want (ie. you don't want adjacent nodes to be connected, just place it on another block), and easy to perform if it is a behavior you want.
