There is certainly a lot of work we can do reasonably easily around making the chat client work better with a keyboard. The really interesting problem is to how to make the instant messaging side more accessible in a web browser context. For example, informing the user that a message has arrived or that a user has changed their status.

One of the prerequisites for this will be to improve the notification system, particularly the configurability and the usefulness of the messages.
