It would be very nice if there is a Portable mode flag / toggle to put the data under the same dir of ESLauncher2's executable.
While Endless Sky is not portable, it's dir under AppData only contains several txt files, and one can just write a script to move them back and forth. PortableApps should work too.
But in the case of ESLauncher2, Endless Sky instance(s) would be just to large to move around. Portable support must be added within.

I came in to report a different issue with similar roots, but instead I'll just second this because I'd actually prefer it - please add a way to have ESLauncher install game instances to its current directory.
By default, ESLauncher installs to my AppData directory, which in my case is on a disk that's entirely too small to be adding games to.
A junction point on Windows is indeed a solution, but in the past when I've used those, they've caused way more trouble than they're worth.
