GDoc takes a list of updates and apply them iteratively. This also means that any following updates in the list must be aware that the state of the document may have changed and therefore its data must be kept up to date (ex: position of placeholder from the start of the paragraph).

We currently don't update updates data based on previous updates. This may become an issue for images, tables and such.
