Impossible to analyze some apps #547
Comments
Actually, we use apkeep to download apk and when we send requests to Google Play, we tell us we use Google Pixel 2, maybe we can't download this apps on this smartphone. I have try with others apps and i don't have problems. |
I think we should make it possible to change the simulated device so that the correct apk is downloaded. |
Before switching to We stopped it following issues with Google Play and it seems that it works for most of the apps we are trying to download. We'll need to check if it makes sense to add this again (and if we can without being blocked by Google). |
Problème similaire avec l'application com.rte.ecowatt |
Caused by geographic restrictions :( |
How can I submit the APK by hand? I have also https://github.com/TrackerControl/tracker-control-android but that doesn't have an upload apk button, nor it can specify 1st party trackers from 3rd party ones, nor it cannot do domain based filtering, nor it will not update that |
Caused by geographical restrictions :( |
Local scans that could be submitted or multiple scan servers across major countries could solve it |
We don't want to allow local scan of apk on our instance, because we cannot verify the source of apk. |
I hope you fix this problem as soon as possible, thanks a lot. ❤️ |
Have you reviewed the option of using the approach similar to what Aurora Store uses?
You probably could try running that app/code on your backend as a fall-back option for the downloads that failed at first attempt. |
We have switch to apkeep, we have planned to migrate to latest version with more recent device to reduce download failed. |
Should be fixed with the newest release. I'll close this issue, if there are more analysis in failure please open new issues. |
Fixed for recent applications by #612 using |
@codeurimpulsif Still not possible if you try for example
(others now work) Shall we open a new issue? |
Other examples that still don't work: |
@ElsAr4e maybe it's due to geographic restriction or other thing, but it can be more useful to open issues on |
@codeurimpulsif Isn't it very unlikely that "Speech Recognition & Synthesis" by Google has geographic restrictions? But anyway - Shall I still open this issue on apkeep? |
For Speech Recognition & Synthesis it's different see #300 |
Yes it would probably be best to open it there if the issue is reproduced (which is very likely) from trying with only their binary. |
In the past I had no issues but now I can't analyze the same apps:
