Wanted: extract clade

I'd like to pitch everything outside my clade of interest. In part, this is to reduce the db size (vrt currently clocks in at 12.6 GB).

Not a huge priority.

Would you want this on the building of the db or after? Still has to download a bunch of things regardless because you don't know what is included in each genbank file.

Hmm. Either, I guess? Maybe the latter if one were interested in doing multiple things in vrt (i.e., just download the entire thing once).

Is this doable? Working with the whole vrt db is cumbersome.

I can accomplish this with the new delete functions (i.e. delete stuff outside my clade of interest). A wrapper would be nice (i.e., retain clade X, or delete all not-X), but I can work with this.
