Managing Forge licenses

Important

Using Forge for commercial use is available from the Professional plan and up. "Non-commercial" means personal or educational use. You may use Forge for free to learn FHIR or to assess Forge as long as you wish. Only when you are using Forge in real projects as part of your job, we require you to have a license for commercial use, regardless of where you are working (profit or nonprofit). In case of doubt, ask for permission.

Your Simplifier & Forge plan comes with a set amount of Forge users. When Forge users are associated with these license slots they will be able to use Forge commercially. If they are not, a yellow bar is shown in Forge and users can only use Forge for non-commercial use (personal and educational use).

Current situation

Currently you can not assign these license slots to specific Simplifier users yet. For now, make sure that your Forge users have edit or admin rights on one of the projects associated to your Simplifier & Forge plan. Projects associated with your plan need to be owned by the Simplifier user who also owns the license. When this is set up correctly, no yellow bar will be shown to the Forge user after login.

Still the amount of users who are allowed to use Forge for commercial use is limited by the amount allowed in your license.

Future situation

In the future the Simplifier user who owns the license will be able to explicitly assign the Forge commercial use slots to specific Simplifier user accounts.
