Indication of frost on anemometer for short periods at NASA-SE (and other sites)

Periods that lead up to a "frozen" anemometer can sometime be less variable than usual and decreasing until it freezes completely.
These characteristics could be considered as suspicious and removed. But the starting point of these periods is a gray zone.
Not sure how to proceed yet on this one.
