I see that some grids are just plain HTML tables. Could we use the mvc.grid project ? Or the syncfusion mvc free controls ?

@BillWagner any thoughts on this? We do have simple tables and haven't had much investment on UX updates but I haven't looked at impact of either of those to the project. Thanks for the ideas and definitely looking for help to make the UI/UX more engaging and supportive of user needs

I'd be fine with any 3rd party components, as long as:

  1. We (HTBox) get a license to use them.
  2. Any public contributors can build and work on the project without a large outlay of funds.

I haven't looked at mvc.grid. How active is it? Is it still being maintained?

Dear Bill and Tony,

1.regarding syncfusion user controls, they require to request for a licence according to the FAQ. the contact form to send the request is here

  1. regarding Mvc.Grid unfortunately it seems like the project has not been updated since 2014.

If Mvc,Grid works, why be alarmed about the 2014 modification date? It's open source - in the unlikely event we have a problem can we not submit a fix back / fork their codebase?

Hello, I think we can use Mvc.Grid.
we should be able to submit a fix or fork the original codebase.

Just to let you know, I used this control when I used to work for
thebigword... it's a decent, quality grid...

Thanks @mjmilan and @ktngoykalolo

With your recommendations, I"m happy to take a PR that takes a dependency on MVC.Grid.
