pychat app not opening

After running "buildozer -v android debug"
I got the message : "# Android packaging done!"
And I installed the apk to my phone. But the app does not start.
It just displays "Loading..." text and then window shuts down.

I unfortunately don't have time to actively develop this app. Feel free to fork or make a pull request. My initial thought is differences in versions, since it's been two years since I last looked at this code.
