In principle this is straightforward and consists of:

extract spatial pattern of global emissions per speices in 2100 for a given scenario
normalize spatial pattern per gas, maintaining monthly flux means
load timeseries of extended data indexed on year
multiply panel data by gridded pattern to produce extension grids

gidden added this to the Final v1 grids milestone
