Change of the code list value "Nationally designated areas - CDDA" in the INSPIRE priority data set code list

The European Environment Agency and the partnership network Eionet are gradually implementing the new title for the Eionet core data flow of nationally designated protected areas. The new name "Nationally designated areas" and the acronym "(NatDA)" will replace previous name "Common database of nationally designated areas" with acronym "(CDDA)".
The new name will be used in data collection, data dissemination and in references to this data source, as it is announced on the nationally designated areas data collection web page.

We propose to align the INSPIRE priority data set code list to the latest name and update the code list value Nationally designated areas - CDDA as proposed below:

• delete acronym from the label
• include definition with information about the data inventory and the reference to the previous name
• create new URI that follows the new name, if possible.

Proposed new content:

Label:
Nationally designated areas

Definition:
Nationally designated areas (NatDA) as part of the EIONET Core Data Flow, providing information about designated areas and their designation types, which directly or indirectly create protected areas or provide other effective areas-based conservation measures. The previous name was Common database of nationally designated areas (CDDA).

URI
If possible, the new URI could be created, following the new name, e.g.:
http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/metadata-codelist/PriorityDataset/NationallyDesignatedAreas

The proposed change type is supersession.
The code list value "Nationally designated areas - CDDA" will still be needed as metadata for datasets, especially those related to the INSPIRE Protected sites spatial data theme, already include this label.

In the MIWP Action 2.3.1 MIG-T Sub-group Meeting on 11/11/2024, it was agreed to bring this proposal for endorsement in the 80 MIG-T Meeting

We as German MIG-T members agree to the change. However, please make sure, that the persistence of the URI and the versioning are kept. So that the proposed change to the URI, label and description is traceable. The old URI with the acronym CDDA shall not be deleted.

The old URI will be accesible https://inspire.ec.europa.eu/metadata-codelist/PriorityDataset/NationallyDesignatedAreasCDDA in SUPERSEDED status. Also, in this case, it is mandatory to indicate a successor to maintain traceability.

A check should be done with the INSPIRE Reference Validator team, to assure that this changes has no impact in any tests -
I.e. any tests in the Validator checking these URIs (those of both versions of the item) should be changed to accept both URIs.
