Explicitly don't support alpine? To be clear it works, but I don't want to spend time on it. #328

Alpine has it's uses. Having a container be 10MB instead of 200MB is a great advantage.

But the difference in size between Debian slim with Imagick installed and alpine with Imagick installed is a much smaller size difference.

It's also a good idea to have 1 Imagick container running on 1 'physical'* CPU core

It's currently annoyingly hard to open bugs against imagick in alpine which means that those people end up opening bugs here instead.

If something gives not much benefit to users, and has a cost for me, why don't I just say "alpine is unsupported, use debian slim instead"?

  • for vague values of physical.

Not sure this issue makes sense nowadays, the only issue I have is the one test #385 on x86 (32-bit), other 7 arches works without issues https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/packages?name=php*imagick&branch=edge
