SDK v2.51.1 compatibility with Jetson AGX Orin

Hello.

I would like to know if librealsense2 SDK v2.51.1 is fully-compatible with Jetson AGX Orin device.

Device environment is as follows:

NVIDIA NVIDIA Orin Jetson - Small Developer Kit
  L4T 34.1.1 [ JetPack 5.0.1 DP ]
    Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS
    Kernel Version: 5.10.65-tegra
  CUDA 11.4.239
    CUDA Architecture: NONE
  OpenCV version: 4.5.4
    OpenCV Cuda: NO
  CUDNN: 8.3.2.49
  TensorRT: 8.4.0.11
  Vision Works: NOT_INSTALLED
  VPI: 2.0.14
  Vulcan: 1.3.203

If compatible, I would like to know the recommended installation method.

I’m not familliar with Linux, so I’d like to clarify first before installing SDK.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @NoobUranium In #10722 other Orin users describe how they were able to successfully install the librealsense SDK on Jetson Orin by building it from source code, either with the RSUSB backend installation method that does not require kernel patching or by building without the RSUSB backend (which typically requires patching the kernel) but not applying a kernel patch.

@NoobUranium I can add that for the long run dev team has JP5 on Orin in it's coming plans.
Once it will be ready we'll add kernel patches for it.

Currently, due to other reasons, I have upgraded my Jetson machine's JetPack version to 5.0.2.
And I am having trouble installing librealsense2 v2.51.1 as a native sdk backend mode without kernel patching.
The upgraded environment information is as follows:

NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin
 L4T 35.1.0 [ JetPack 5.0.2 ]
   Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS
   Kernel Version: 5.10.104-tegra
 CUDA 11.4.239
   CUDA Architecture: NONE
 OpenCV version: 4.5.4
   OpenCV Cuda: NO
 CUDNN: 8.4.1.50
 TensorRT: 8.4.1.5
 Vision Works: NOT_INSTALLED
 VPI: 2.1.6
 Vulcan: 1.3.203

And here is the SDK installation procedure I tried:

1. Make sure the RealSense camera is unplugged
2. Download librealsense2 v2.51.1 SDK and navigate to SDK root directory
3. Enter the following commands sequentially:
   sudo apt-get install git libssl-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libudev-dev pkg-config libgtk-3-dev -y
./scripts/setup_udev_rules.sh
mkdir build && cd build
cmake .. -DBUILD_EXAMPLES=true -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=release -DFORCE_RSUSB_BACKEND=false -DBUILD_WITH_CUDA=true
make -j$(($(nproc)-1)) <- got stuck
   sudo make install

In the above procedure, a make error 2 occurs at the step make -j$(($(nproc)-1)).
Here is the full output of the console:

I'm new to linux, so everything is confusing.

IMO you missed a step in the installation phase.

Please set this command and try the make step again
sudo apt-get install libglfw3-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa-dev at

I reflected the points you pointed out and the SDK installation was successful.
After that I tested it with my L515 camera and it seems to be working fine so far.

I'll let you know if additional issues arise in the future.
