General

While we wait for Microsoft... Here we go, we are now version 1.0.0 🍾 🎉

This release has been focus on fixing small issues, improving config options (specially for proxy), adding some bots to help automation, adding more functionality to the right click button and automatically place your downloads into the download folder (opt in feature)

Details

Thanks

Thanks to @standagh, @emanuelbatista, @jef79m and everybody that created issues/enhancements, fixed and/or tested them.

Special thanks to @julian-alarcon for continuously supporting the snap version of this project and to anyone else that is supporting other package types.

Thanks also to @byteSamurai for introducing hacktoverfest. I manage to get a t-shirt and to get a few people on my team to also contribute.

Its been a long ride, and looks like Microsoft has heard us out loud, but until they got something working as stable as this, I will continue contributing.

General notes

Because #217, you need to clear you config folder before your 1st login (config folder locations). This is not necessary if you are moving from version 0.6.6 or higher.

This release is been mostly concentrated on bug fixes and making this a bit more stable.

Extras

Special thanks also to all the people that reported issues, tested them, fixed them, improved the documentation, and, in general, helped making this a bit more stable. All of this will not be possible with your contributions.

Apologies if I have missed anyone.

Stamp helped to generate this release notes.

General notes

_The __change #194 might require to clean your configuration. Check the https://github.com/IsmaelMartinez/teams-for-linux/blob/develop/KNOWN_ISSUES.md#no-history for information about what needs to be removed.

This release its been mostly concentrated in stability issues/fixes. Microsoft did surprise us again by changing the implementation of the remote desktop.

Detail changes

  • #180 Snap not running from Wayland Session (PR #181) (Thanks to @zigford )
  • #183 The client now prints the location for the config.json file. This solves the issue where clients will not know where to put the config.json file (part of #186)
  • #184 Fixing the issue where the app stopped working after suspension was trigger.
  • #186 Refactoring the index.js and adding some console.log messages to ease issues debugging (PR #189)
  • #187 Fixing an issue where Fedora couldn't open the app again.
  • #194 Fixing the Screensharing not working anymore. (PR #195 )

The packages versions has been updated a bit, as we are still block for moving to version 5 of electron (#156).

Thanks

To everyone involved from people reporting issues, finding work around, testing solutions and implementing them. Again, you all make this possible.

Notes on version number.

Releasing as 0.5.0 as, at the moment, I don't consider this 1.0.0 until we can move to electron 5/6.
