The shortcut included in the VesselVio folder should point to "Contents\VesselVio.exe", starting in the same directory.

  1. Instead it points to the #Users Desktop Folder#\Contents\VesselVio.exe"
  2. The shortcut also points to a target Directory on the original authors computer.

Thanks for sharing this issue.

Just for my sanity - Does the.exe still execute on your computer to run the application?

Honestly - I think this problem will best be resolved by building an installer rather than distributing the app as a .zip file. I will start looking into this today.

In the meantime, I will add a warning to the downloads page and will update the README file to warn that the shortcut is broken.

Any other suggestions?

Yes. It does work.

That revealed a second quirk. I found out that due to the way VesselVio works and admin permissions, it will not simply hang on startup if it is placed in the "Program Files" folder in Windows 11.

You have to either :

  1. install in a folder that does not require admin rights.
  2. install it in Program Files but then always use "Run as Administrator" option when starting.

I took the liberty of making an installer using Inno Setup: https://jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php

You can download the Install maker script, Icon and resulting Setup executable here:
