[Feature Request] Additional Selection Indicator

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
In my use case it is not viable to use the existing selection custom styling. This is because I'm allowing the user to change the style of the currently selected feature and I want to let the user see their changes in real time.

Describe your proposed idea for the solution to this problem
My current approach is adding a layer BELOW the polygons outline layer but ABOVE the fill layer. If this approach is implemented i think providing a way to specify for example the width of the line as a function would be necessary (so the thick of the line is adapts to the feature outline), along with all the existing style properties for the new layer.
