These are the things we need to implement/fix before the release, I
will keep this list updated.
I will also put your name next to an item if you choose to work on
that item.
If it doesn't have name next to it,
nTO BE DONE BEFORE THE RELEASE: (wishlist after)
* Continuous mode.
Look for any speech, and send it to be recognized as soon as it is
detected that speech has stopped.
* Auto-stop mode.
The user presses the hotkey to start speech, but send it as soon as
it is detected that speech has stopped.
* Activate mode.
First detect "activation noise", the person can say anything they
want from "hey" to "wake up", it is just looking for noise. Once it
detects that, turn on a yellow mic, then when the noise has
stopped, turn on the green mic. From here Auto-stop.
* a dict command [JamezQ]
This command will send the argument to be recognized by another
dictionary. It will be in this format,
dict <dir> <dictionary> <command>, with dir being a directory in
config, not the full path. And dictionary being the dictionary name
without .dic.
* A way to play music by name, without hardcoding. Just like
rhythmbox would.
* A context dictionary, for example, someone says a command that is
in mutiple parts. If the command asks something 'Is this correct?',
the person can simply say 'yes' and because the context is set, the
program knows what they mean.
* A personal dictionary that will be checked before the mode
dictionary, but still after the context.
* Modes should be able to use sed scripts to replace words
automatically.
* There should be a personal sed script too.
* A real ask command, with the ability to have a question dictionary,
allowing people to ask questions like "what is the current cpu
usage", as well as to query google, wolfram, or MIT start.
* If possible, try to find a way to open programs without a
dictionary, the dash can do it by name, we should too. That said, a
program dictionary is still nice, to recognize things like "a file
browser" or "a terminal" or other common terms that are not
actually program names.
* A nicer tutorial to implementing commands in the dictionary
language, and a overall tutorial about how to extend the program.
* A better recognition of if a command ran sucessfully, right now if
a command is recognized, but the script has a bug, it simply says
"done" and does nothing.
* I think macro recording would be nice, start a macro with "Record
macro" then stop a macro with the same key used for the
hotkey. After this a macro can be automatically called with "call
last macro" or it can be saved forever and a the system could be
set to recognize it.
* Make all dictionaries besides the personal dictionary made up of
plugins.
WISHLIST (To take priority *after* the release)
Add wishlist stuff here
* An emacs dictionary mode to edit .dic files.
This mode can allow testing of matches on the fly, as well as
showing any unmatched < and [. And of course simple syntax
highlighting.
