I'm having heavy color banding issues due to the heavy compression of h.264 to h.264. Are there higher-quality file format options for import/export?

I'm doing VFX work with this software, I'll love to have some sort of ffmpeg export option, so I can choose my own preferred lossless video codec or image sequences.
