Hi!
I landed here after a search on Google. Awesome project!
I live in the mountains and i'm facing the same problem you had, my cat bring me 2 or 3 "present" per days on average. I'm looking for a solution like you did.
As i already have a RFID reader on my external cat flap and i'm not able to have any powerplug outside, i'll try to do something on the inside (chained with the existing cat flap).
I have a couple of questions:
What are your detection rate? Is it working well?
After looking at your pictures it seems like your LED panels stay on 24/24. Did you find any solution to power it only when your cat enters the flap?
While i can code in Python i have no experience with C, do you think it is difficult to implement your code for someone without any C experience?
It's the same for the hardware side, i have no experience with the Raspberry Pi for now. Can you tell me more about the hardware side?
Finally, this project is a bit old (for you), if you had to start from scratch again will you build it like this?
Greetings from the Swiss Alps!
