Current Behavior

trying to play anything shows as in this video, this has been an issue for several months, and happens for any track from anywhere on the network.
it seems trying to play the same track again after it stops will not initiate another attempt, as shown toward the end of the file.

curiously, i've also noticed that the time it spends trying to load before stopping as shown toward the end of the file, varies in duration. sometimes it tries for longer than a minute, sometimes it tries for close to half a minute as seen here.

for music to play when clicking play

start the program
click on play for any track

windows 10 home; version 22H2; OS build 19045.4780

v3.8.0 (for today's attempts)

Additional information

for previous attempts i had completely uninstalled & reinstalled, some using installation packages from various different sources, among other resolution attempts that escape memory. last time playback was successful was approx. early this year / late last year
