Would really appreciate to use this with recent Kernels - any chance to pick this up again? #10

I've been searching intensely to understand why my system wouldn't go beyond Pkg C3 state, until I switched my RTL8111h device off in my device's BIOS. All of a sudden C9 was easily attainable.

Further digging led me here, however this wonderful initiative seems to have lost speed a while ago.

Is there any way this could be picked up again?
I've been going through the code but have to admit my amateur skills are most definitely not sufficient...

Hi,
kernels > 4.19 should already come with a r8169 module which allows aspm. Therefore, I'm not planning to port this patch to a newer version.
Did you read the Readme? Maybe you find hints on how to verify it really is this module / device maybe the boot option "pcie_aspm=force" does the trick.
