This issue ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux#5674 is openned since Aug 2018 and Valve doesn't seem to wanting to implement this.

This issue in kreytricks is tracking to make a logic that injects kreytricks code that allows linux users to use winehq on steam play

i am requesting this from 2012. Valve delete the mayor part of post i had make.
Some post had a mockup made by myself. like :

https://i.postimg.cc/x8yPQ1mr/Steam-Dirs.png

2024 and yet, i don't have any clue why Steam just simple not add a button to « Add Custom Tool ».

Neither why below the combobox where the users can select things proton version, not exist buttons like « Edit Registry » to open « regedit.exe » of that proton in that prefix.

Because certain games can requiere the user intervention to make works like the user need. But that depende of every posible hardware combination.

The progress is make options availables and let the user set their software each need just add a disclaimer from that point all things is by own risk and valve/steam is not responsable by the consecuences .
