Hi, I read the license, but I’m not sure if it allows for commercial use of this software at work. Is it open source and free for commercial use?

Komorebi is not open source software and the Komorebi License very clearly permits only personal use.

I actually agree with @manimovassagh.
After reading the license, it's still not entirely clear to me whether it allows use in a work environment. While I don’t have specific suggestions for improving the wording as I lack the knowledge, I believe a bit more clarity around this point would be helpful

It has been modified to integrate a "Changes License" based on the "Changes and New Works License" of the PolyForm-Noncommercial license, while also removing any use by noncommercial organizations from the enumerated list of Permitted Purposes.

This results in a license which permits use and changes for Personal Uses (the sole remaining Permitted Purpose), while restricting redistribution and denying both commercial use and use by noncommercial organizations.

LICENSE.md is literally the Komorebi 1.0.0 license which forbids any kind of commercial use.

Thank you for the additional context and the link to the recent repository. I didn’t mean to stir up any frustration, and I apologize if it came across that way.
My intention was simply to highlight that the information could benefit from being presented in a more centralized or accessible way.

The reason I brought this up is that the license as presented in LICENSE.md is written in a non-standard legal format (unlike more widely used licenses like MIT) and thus may be harder to process for regular users of Komorebi

@LGUG2Z I thought this project looked really interesting, but the wording of the license prevents any independent software developer even considering doing freelance work from using the project. I hope you might reconsider this in the future.

I would recommend making this more clear on the documentation website, since a lot of the userbase for a project like this will be professionals in the IT industry.

This is a feature and not a bug.

A separate, paid commercial use license for freelancers and small businesses will be introduced next year, stay tuned.

For those who want to use komorebi at work, the individual commercial use license will be available from January 2025
