I changed my zone_settings to my local IP address that populates on whatsmyip.com and forwarded all my ports on my Fiber connection via my router app and players cannot connect to my server. They get this error "mbedtls_net_connect failed" any suggestions? I can connect to it but no one else can. Discussion #4541 is a similar problem where the owner cannot connect to their own server, but it has not been resolved. |

It could "simply" be that a firewall is getting in the way....either on their end or yours (don't forget to check what may be working at the OS level, not just your router) IDK if the LSB listeners will respond to it, but you could try the port scan tool at speedguide.net to see if they are actually open: https://www.speedguide.net/scan.php Sometimes a browser or other web application may be grabbing a port that is needed. Though I think that may give a different message about failure to bind or something. May be worth closing extra stuff when trying to connect. |

I just checked, and even though i open the ports with my internet and firewall, its still closed. I'll try again with my ISP at a later time. |

that's not local that's external. which is good, because you need external for ppl outside your local network to connect.
Things to check: Make sure everyone trying to connect is using the latest xiloader from here https://github.com/LandSandBoat/xiloader/releases The old ones from dsp or the one packed with ashita won't work (until ashita updates theirs) Make sure your server's operating system firewall also has the needed ports open besides your router's forwarding. Its not common but I've also heard often about people on a fiber connection thinking the ports were open but and hardware reporting them open but actually still having problems with the network hardware. What company is your fiber connection through? Might be worth googling for forwarding issues on their service, just in case. |

I have Point Broadband, I'll check with them about opening the ports even though my port on my router app states that they are open. |

external goes in the zone_settings table just please stop mixing up the 2 terms and what they are. |

Yep thats what I had in there, thanks for the help, just got off the phone with the ISP, its a port forward with the fiber router. :/ |
