Human Rights Considered

Disclaimer: This application is currently in Alpha (as of Sep 20, 2020) and is not ready for production. Please use at your own risk as things will change almost daily.

  • An application that takes information from data provided by the data science team collecting relevant incidents and data from Twitter, Reddit, and police agencies to display it on the map.
  • Human Rights First is a nonprofit on a mission — an independent advocacy and action organization that challenges America to live up to its ideals.
  • This app will display various incidents of police use of force on a map that can be filtered by type of force and location with zipcodes and states or cities.

Contributing

  • Further contributions to the app could come in the form of effectively connecting the map to the data that the Data Science team creates in their API, Implementing some sort of user compenent which allows a user to login and save results, embedding the media available for the incidents, implementation of a timeline view of the data, and a way to filter the data by date.
