Attempted to update with the built in update (for 2.14.1) multiple times on Win 10 and Win 11 machines. The build in updater seems to fail and does not post an error. The first update a week or two worked fine (2.14.0). Different machines used different A/V systems and both were disabled at time of updating.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Click on the update popup
  2. Wait for download to install
  3. Watch program close and installer open. Begins installing
  4. Installer window disappears.
  5. Attempts to try again results in the same behavior

Expected behavior
Expected to update the program.

Additional context
A/V systems disabled during install attempts.

Side note: This program is awesome! Thanks for the hard work!

If downloaded from the website as an executable it installs correctly.

I'm having the same issue.
when the installer launches, it sends the UAC prompt then immediately shows this on the installer:
image
rolling back changes
If someone could point me to the installer logs I can upload those if needed, but I couldn't easily find them on my own

If downloaded from the website as an executable it installs correctly.

Noticed a difference between the built-in updater and the executable installer:
The executable installer hangs on adb.exe (android debug bridge). If adb.exe process is killed manually the installer will continue. The built-in installer gets to a point where it is attempting to install, hangs, then switches to rollback and disappears/closes without further notice.

So it may just be that the built in updater is unable to successfully terminate the adb process to allow the upgrade.
Thanks!

can confirm ending adb.exe process in task manager works.
