Different input models should allow different variable names as input #553

What problem does your feature request solve?

LFRic and the UM use different names for the same field. This means that if you want to plot temperature you need air_temperature for the UM and temperature_at_screen_level for LFRic. You can't plot both for both models as one name will be missing from the data.

Describe the solution you'd like

Some way to specify a separate list of fields to process for each model.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • How does this interact with diagnostics that take from both models?
  • Should we just be continuing after a failure?

This can be satisfied with the list of equivalent variables now provided in CSET. We just need to figure out how to plumb it through #858 and #492.
