Inconsistency between different planes

Hi,

I am designing a 2x2 splitter with meep using inverse design, while I was checking that I built everything right, I plotted xy, yz, and xz planes, and I noticed that the ports are not shown at all in the xz plane, even though they appear in xy, could that be a bug or is there something I am missing?

The xz plane is positioned along this pink line, so it goes between your ports.

If you use

sim.plot_2D(
    output_plane = mp.Volume(
        center = mp.Vector3(y=arm_separation/2),
        size = mp.Vector3(x=design_region_width+2*waveguide_length,z=t_Si)
    )

Then you should be able to see the top ports.

Oh thanks that makes sense. I don't know why i thought a projection happens on the plane.
