Description

🧘 What we offer

We operate in a fully remote work environment – work from anywhere globally.

You will receive salary and equity compensation, premium health insurance that works in most countries worldwide, travel insurance, a laptop, an office stipend, a minimum of four weeks of vacation per year, and a personal development budget.

We also have fantastic annual team gatherings. The previous ones were in Ljubljana, San Francisco, Mexico, Bali, and Siglufjörður.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
SafetyWing (YC W18) is seeking an ambitious and creative Product Manager to help make our product something our customers love so much that they’ll tell their friends about it.

We are on a mission to remove the role of geographical borders as a barrier to equal opportunities and freedom for everyone. We are doing that by creating simple health, insurance, and retirement products for remote workers worldwide as a replacement for national welfare systems.

💻 What you can help with:

  • End-to-end product management, taking the first seeds of an idea and carrying it through to implementation and optimization.
  • Executing a product vision and strategy to enhance our Remote Health B2B product, targeting startups
  • Talking to users and translating their desirers, suggestions and pain points into products and features
  • Leading a cross-functional team of engineers and designers, and managing stakeholders such as legal and compliance
  • Building operational systems and automations as your team scales and grows
  • Inspiring people across the company to believe in the impact of you and your team’s work
  • Making quarterly and yearly plans for execution with a variety of stakeholders involved

🧪 We are looking for someone who:

  • Has great judgement, meaning an intuitive understanding of what makes a product amazing
  • Can use their own intuition in combination with user feedback to delight new and existing users at every step of the product interaction
  • Is a strong leader who can guide and motivate a team towards project completion and iterations
  • Can make well rounded product priorities while weighing product considerations, business needs and available resources
  • Has extensive professional leadership experience in a product adjacent role. Experience in one or more of the following areas are particularly welcome but not required: founding a company, product management, technical background
😀 We like to work with people who:
  • Want to help build a global social safety net on the Internet.
  • Think for themselves instead of copying others.
  • Are willing to try new things, even with the risk of failure.
  • Are intellectually curious and open to new ideas.
  • Are creative and bold in the face of any problems.
  • Have strong integrity and do the right thing.

Description
Hello, we’re Instrumentl.
We’re a mission-driven startup helping the nonprofit sector to drive impact, and we’re well on our way to becoming the #1 most-loved grant discovery and management tool. To help us get there, we’re hiring a senior product manager to build innovative technology for our nonprofit customers.

Instrumentl is fully distributed but has a significant percentage of the senior team in the SF Bay Area. If you're not based in the Bay Area, you're open to traveling to the Oakland, California office once or twice a year for a week of in-person work.

About us
Instrumentl (YC S16) is the best platform for nonprofits and grant writing consultants looking to grow revenue. We help over 4,000 organizations win more grants by bringing discovery, research and tracking to one place. Our customers are on the front lines educating kids, saving endangered species, and restoring watersheds. By supporting their grant discovery and management on Instrumentl, you’ll help move the world forward. 🌎✨

Our charts are dramatically up-and-to-the-right 📈 — we’re cash flow positive and doubling year-over-year, with customers who love us (NPS is 65+ and Ellis PMF survey is 60+). Join us on this rocket ship! Get to know the team more at instrumentl.com/about! We can’t wait to meet you.

About the role
As a Senior Product Manager at Instrumentl, you will be partnering closely with design and engineering to create, own, and execute the product vision for both (1) transforming our existing, beloved grant discovery product to an AI-native experience as well as (2) evolving our current AI-native grant writing product. For the former, you’ll be partnering with another PM internally but will be the product lead on the initiative.

This role reports to Instrumentl's Head of Product, Ishita Arora, and is a part of the broader product and design team. You’ll be the 3rd product manager at Instrumentl and belong to an EPD org of 3 designers and ~20 (and growing!) engineers.

  • On the cutting edge: You stay current with emerging product and technology capabilities like autonomous AI agents, emergent model capabilities, and evaluation frameworks. You are discerning between hype and genuine innovation and can translate these cutting edge developments into delivering real user value.
  • Customer-obsessed: You believe customers are the hero of the story, and integrate customer feedback throughout the product development process–whether it’s teaming up with design to conduct user research or hopping on sales or customer success calls to get the insight you need.
  • Cross-functionally collaborative: You excel at fostering relationships across the organization, from engineering and design to sales, marketing, and customer success because you understand that the best solutions come from the intersection of different perspectives, and you harness this collective wisdom to drive the product forward.
  • Detail-oriented: You believe in sweating the details to ensure we deliver the right experience to customers and have a track record of delivering complex, high quality products.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

Empower is looking for an experienced product manager for our international businesses in Asia Pacific. This role presents an exciting opportunity to be an early team member in these geographies as we build a winning strategy to expand access to fair credit. The ideal candidate is driven by a passion to improve customer financial well-being, collaborate intensely with other key disciplines, and make decisions that fuel business growth. This individual will lead teams and workstreams that drive the strategy, tactics, and delivery timelines for all Empower features and products.

More specifically, this role will lead development and launch of products in Empower’s emerging markets in Asia Pacific (particularly for Cashalo, our leading online lending platform in the Philippines). You will play a critical role in bringing products to market, designing and executing a robust testing agenda, and analyzing user data to identify areas of opportunity. • Identify opportunities, develop and review proposals for new products for Empower’s international markets

    • Lead workstreams required to build impactful products, i.e., managing cross-functional support, designing specs, overseeing development and measuring outcomes

    • A get-it-done mindset; you’re resourceful and happy to be hands on and in the weeds writing product specs, leading problem solving sessions, and driving outcomes

    • An interest in addressing complicated and impactful product & business problems

    • Experience leading complex, cross-functional product initiatives

    • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and logical structuring abilities

    • Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to independently lay out and test clear hypotheses, and solve problems without well-defined direction

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate to an executive audience

    • Located in an Asia Pacific time zone to facilitate collaboration across regions.

At Empower, we hire for people that push themselves to understand others and seek out ways to challenge their personal assumptions. Our hope is that by fostering such an environment, we strengthen our business and relationships by putting people first.
